Cisco Catalyst StackWise Virtual についてまとめました。

設定ガイドライン

初期リリースの制限

  • すべてのプラットフォームで、初期リリースの IOS-XE では StackWise Virtual がサポートされません
    • 例) C9400X-SUP-2 は、ハードウェアとして 17.7.1 から使用できますがスタンドアローンのみで、17.9.1 以降で StackWise Virtual がサポートされます
  • コマンドは入るが動作しない / 保証されない、といったバージョンもある

機能追加

  • C9500 のアップリンク モジュールで、SVL が使用できないリリースがありました
  • 新リリースではサポートされます (サポート マトリックス参照)

SVL は 8 ポートまで [1]

  • UADP ASIC 搭載機の SVL 増速 / DAD 設定は再起動が必要なため、初期導入時に SVL を最大の 8 ポート + DAD 1 ポートまで接続してしまうのがおすすめ
    • アップリンク本数増加が将来的に必要なければ、SVL 本数は少なくて良いです
  • Silicon One ASIC 搭載機 (C9500X , C9600X) は再起動が必要なくなりました

SVL を設定できるポートには制限があります

  • C9500-16X , 40X : 10G はアップリンクモジュールと混在可能、40G は混在不可
    • 使用可能なバージョンに注意
    • 40G アップリンクモジュールは、オンボードの 10G と速度が異なるため、SVL に混在できません
  • C9500-32C : 1-16 ポートのみ設定可能
  • ブレークアウト , QSA アダプタは基本的に SVL , DAD ポートで使用できません [2]
    • C9500 は QSA アダプタを使用しても、SVL に使用できません
    • C9600 は例外で QSA アダプタを使用して、SVL に使用できます [3]
    • QSA アダプタ : QSFP -> SFP+ に形状変換するトランシーバ
  • 10G 以上の速度で SVL/DAD はサポートされ、1G は SVL で動作せず、DAD には対応します

SVL の速度は同一である必要があります

  • 10G / 25G 両対応ポートでは、トランシーバを搭載することで速度が確定するため、25G の場合は搭載しないと設定ができません

C9500-24Y4C , 48Y4C で 25G ポートを SVL に使用できます [4]

  • 100G ポートを温存したい場合に有効

Network Advantage ライセンスが必要です [5]

  • 旧世代の WS-C4500X は IP Base でも VSS が組めていましたが、C9500 は Network Advantage (IP Services 相当) になります
    • リプレース時の金額が異なるため注意
    • 例) Catalyst 4500X VSS IP Base -> Catalyst 9500 SWV Network Advantage
  • Layer2 スイッチで StackWise Virtual を入れるのは、ライセンス費用が高くつきます
    • C9300X Stack などが使用できないか検討したほうが良いでしょう
  • C9404R + SUP1 では、さらに C9400-SUP-UPG-LIC= ライセンスが必要 [6]

Vlan ID [7]

  • 4094 を SWV で使用するため、ユーザは使用できません

EtherChannel

C9500 の場合、channel-group 126 まで使用可能です。127 , 128 は StackWise Virtual で使用されるため、データポートには使用できません。 [8]
